Experience the hospitality and customs of these communities, and marvel at the natural beauty of the Hoang Lien mountain range.
Tour Plan
The tour starts with a departure from Sapa at 8:30 am by vehicle, heading southwards along a narrow and bumpy tarmac road. The first 16 kilometers of the journey provide breathtaking views of Hoang Lien mountain range, Fansipan peak, and the picturesque terraced rice fields of the Muong Hoa valley. Several photo stops are made before a half-hour walk around Hoa Su Pan, a small hamlet of the Black Hmong, where you can visit local homes and observe the locals going about their daily activities.
Afterward, the tour continues along the road further south to Muong Bo valley of Thanh Phu Commune. You’ll enjoy another one-hour walk along a large village path, where you can visit several homes of the Tay people, who live in spacious houses built on stilts. Here, you can witness their daily life and experience their hospitality. Lunch will be served in a local home in the open air on the grass, depending on the weather.
After lunch, a short drive will take you along the rocky road to My Son, where you’ll spend half an hour exploring this charming village of the Xa Pho ethnic group, whose population is only slightly over 6,000 people, to get a glimpse into their unique culture and customs.
The trip continues further for 10 kilometers to Nam Cang Commune, where you’ll visit the beautiful and prosperous village of the Red Zao people in Nam Than village. This part of the journey offers beautiful scenery of the Nam Sai valley.
In the mid-afternoon, the tour will leave Nam Cang and drive for an hour along the same road back to Sapa.
